We living from the station on the high speed line LN1 (no sharpe curves, no rail/road crossing gates, max. speed 300kmh/182mph and no classical railways signals.)
Note that's the engine is a bit noisy and depicts one of my favorite music !
At 4:08 we passed a electric station and we need to cut off the curant by opening the discjonctor, that's happened many times on
25 000 volt curant lines.
Fantastic. This is the first high speed line in France, built in 1982. Already 25 years, without derailments or accidents. Except one derailment in Northern France a few years ago, but due to the conception of the train, no casualties. Last but not least, for passengers those trains are very comfortable.
AWESOME! You can literally hear the power! Who says Electric Trains don't have as much character as their Steam or Diesel counter-parts?

What a joy to see these trains ride so gracefully on their rails. Great technology from the French. I do believe it is time that we here in North America apply high speed rail for our mode of transportion. Come on America and Canada stop talking about it and start laying the rails and not only will the rolling stock follow, but the passengers will too. Remember, NIKE says "JUST DO IT".
Unbelievable! I'm an electrical engineer by trade. The whine you are hearing is the electric motors reving up. The higher the pitch, the faster the motors go. I've designed some electric motors for trucks but nothing as big as these. They must be huge!! It's fantastic what is heard in the cab! I love it!
The traction motors that I make coils for are ge 752 733 763 I also maker emd ar 10 11 15 and ar 20 stator coils are rotors.I make ac and dc coils for a liveing and we do lots of traction coil work for lots of diffrent railroads but the motors in the TGV's I bet are all ac and are made in France or another country It is always cool to hear them speed up and get higher in RPM's the faster they go the GE ac coils that we make are GE 197 also we make the GE 1252 and the GE 752 the EMD D-32 Arm Coils and Equlizers and the kits for them.It big money and we do alot of work for the railroads here in the USA.
