Remarks: Well it was my day off and I was in the rail fan mood.. So I drove over an hour to get to Maricopa Arizona , This is Union Pacific territory.. After I arrive at Maricopa Amtrak station .. I see that the normal freight traffic is dead .. ( You would think as a hardcore rail fan I would own a scanner by now ) .. After waiting for about an hour and NO trains.. I jump in my car and head east on Maricopa Highway , runs parallel with the tracks... after traveling 10 or so miles I finally see lights .. I quickly make a U turn a head to the next crossover for a great shot before it gets here.. I finally get across and get my camera out , and before I knew it UP1996 and the officers special was flying by me ! .. This could be why there was no freight traffic.. , 5 mins after that .. the freight started to move .. I drove a few miles back and found a brand new set of crossing gates on Potter road , all four gates close in unison , so I had to get them in the shot .. UP has been upgrading this line recently and it shows. Hope you enjoy my new video !
