Remarks: The Sandersville Railroad is one of the wealthiest and best run shortlines in the United States. The railroad thrives on a strong Kaolin business and it shows, the railroads trackwork is better than many class 1's and the railroad is run extremely efficiently with crews performing switching moves in half the time as many other railroads. Here we see the Deepstep turn heading back from the mines in appropriately named Kaolin, Georgia. Todays train has a long string of Kaolin headed for the NS interchange in Tennille and the SW1500 is giving it all its got on the railroads hill and dale trackage. The first shot is less than a mile from the end of the line and the engine is working hard to get the train up to speed. The next location is at the Linton Road crossing which still sports old school WABCO triangle gates. Best for last is the short stretch of streetrunning down Tybee Street in a run down part of Sandersville.
