Remarks: A Indiana Railroad empty coke train screams through Rondout with an eclectic mix of EMD power, including a leased MRL SD40-2, a SOO SD60 from the CP, and a long term leased former SOO SD60 patched for the INRD. Lash-ups like this were not long for this world, as shortly after the former SOO SD60s went off lease and the MRL SD40-2 was returned home. Even the original SOO SD60 was out or service for an extended period of time.
Nice video Chris. But you are mistaken about the two units from INRD. INRD still has at least 2 of the MRL SD40-2XRs on lease, if not all 3 still, and the ex-SOO SD60s were never taken off lease, they were just stored on property, and a couple have actually been put back into service recently.
Ah ok, thanks. The information I got was that all three MRL's were interchanged to the BNSF at BRC Clearing some time ago, and that lead me to assume they were on their way back home. And I haven't heard anything on the INRD SD60's recently so I wasn't sure on their status. Sounds like a trip down to the INRD is in order though if those SD60's are coming back online.
