Remarks: On 4/5/08, GCRM let both of their E-units loose to pull trains during "Experience The E-Units". GCRM is located on the former Naval Air Station Richmond (NASR) property adjacent to Miami MetroZoo. They don't advertise much, but have year-round events. CB&Q 9913 is actually ex-CB&Q 9988 while FEC 1594 is ex-MBTA 5794/CR 4254/PRR 5794. Naturally, a lot of "purists" have a difficult time justifying "FEC 1594", but considering I could film a sight like this in 2008, I'll avoid such issues. FEC is assuredly not interested in preserving their history under the RailAmerica banner. As of 1/10, 1594 is out of service in need of repair. At the time of the video, it was ailing, but they said if people came out, they'd run it.

Pure or not, that FEC unit is beautiful.

What a throwback to the 50s

The caboose the FEC engine is hauling around looks as if it started life as one of the B&O wooden cabooses?

Didn't both of these E-units serve as power for the "Spirit of Tennessee" state bicentennial train, pulling a consist of museum cars across that state? Those locomotives then pulled excursion trains for the Tennessee Central Railway Museum in Nashville, for a little over a year, while painted in the L & N blue and cream colors, with L & N heralds.
