Remarks: ACWR train 400 is on it's way back to Star from Gulf after having interchanged with the Norfolk Southern. The tank cars in tow had been in storage in Carbonton and are now being hauled back to Star to be unloaded at the transload facility. At the crossing, the train starts down a mile long hill at just over a 1% grade. You can hear the loads squealing as the engineer sets the brakes to hold the train down to 10 MPH.
Excellent!! So great to see trains running through my hometown of Robbins, NC again after many a years' delay. Part of the old Norfolk Southern Railway mainline from Raleigh to Charlotte. Just out of the frame to the right is the old Norfolk Southern Railway depot.
