Remarks: Positioned to record the passage of an eastbound Santa Fe mixed with an eclectic quintet of four-axle power, the arrival of an SP westbound climbing the Palmdale Cutoff forced a fast choice between panning over or pulling back. The quickly setting sun pushed the former option first, and the going away was unfortunately recorded in shadow. While Chico may have the first by the camera, the last car trailing that quartet of filthy SD’s was the first to exit the scene.

Great train action! I'm surprised they both didn't add some helpers to the end.
