Remarks: Another interesting consist of old Southern and N&W power was leading NS train 171 by the Amtrak Station in Spartanburg this day, as the new year (1990) was quickly approaching. The train slowed to a stop as it approached it's final destination of Hayne Yard. A caboose was still being used at this time on train 171.
