Remarks: NS H3W heads south to Enola passing through downtown Sunbury. Today, some local kids get their after school jollies by hanging out on the market street crossing. As you will see, one individual begins to wave motorists through the flashing lights; then he decides to put on a little show for everyone, leaving the engineer shaking his head. Then the video shows the train passing through Fishers Ferry after picking up some speed. At the end of the video, I included the defect detector set up in Fishers Ferry. Enjoy!

The foolish nature of what these boys were doing is just unbelievable. It would be very hard for me to be a locomotive engineer, knowing the tragic potential of such horseplay....but trying to wave motorists on through a grade crossing after the lights are flashing?

A rail fan in Massachusetts caught a similar incident on camera where two girls jumped out in front of an Amtrak train, then jumped back, forcing the engineer to apply the emergency brake. The rail fan gave his clip to the local police, who in turn gave it to the TV media in hopes of finding and prosecuting the two who were involved. Maybe you should do the same. The actual clip and the clip being aired on a TV newscast were posted on U-Tube.

You know, its little games like these, that leave an entire town asking how or WHY? This video should be given to the local television stations for an evening showing. I feel very safe in saying there are a group of parents who have a much different perspective than the one shown in this video. Besides appreciating the heads-up!

Talk about stupid! What makes people think that they are invincible? People nowadays are just plain weird!

Whoa! I was right there at the crossing when you shot this video. (Remember me? The guy on the bicycle?) I wanted to hollar at that kid, but they all ran away too fast. The engineer gave him the coldest death stare I've ever seen.

I'm watching video, saying 'Get the get out of the way!'

Geez, What a video. People like this have no common sense what so ever. Not a fun sight seeing a teenager or in this case teenagers playing chicken with a train.

I think i understand everything now. You have to act like a complete dipsh*t and risk your life. And thats how you get the ladies. Such a valuable life lesson from these boys. Poor engineer, but arrogant teens make for quite the horn show. So good job capturing the video.

It just goes to show our children are getting stupider by the day!!!! I saw something similar with a kid on his bike hitching a ride on the side of spline car at Rochelle Illinois. I let that kid have an earful. He was lucky and remained in one piece. These kids in this video will not be the ones to pick up the gory mess.

If I was in that case, I would've found out who they were and turned them in to the local PD.

For crying out loud.. I recall seeing another video on this site where 2 teens crossed when they saw the train coming. One tripped on the rail, and barely got out of the way. the engineer screamed from the cab. I would turn this into the local police or somebody.. get the message out there, and honestly if the kid were to get hurt, it would be instant karma.

I would have put the camera down and given them a piece of my mind. Morons. I'm a teenager, and I find it embarassing to see idiots like that trying to be cool. People need to grow up. Awesome video, Jeff. Great catch with the CRQ GP40-2!

This is disgusting, to a degree I wish that last teen got hit in the head by a hand railing or tie down strap or something, but then you know his parents would sue. No win. (I love how railfans are called "A threat to security" because we take photos and video of trains and similar, yet a moron who plays chicken with a freight train, or tries to beat the train, is nothing really. They get hit, suddenly their victims on the eyes of everyone. Not saying they are, but honestly we're terrorists but someone who parks a 2 ton vehicle in front of a train, isn't. It's freakin' messed up!)

Nothing surprises me today with today's youth.

I agree with all of you.
