Remarks: This is one of my favorite video clips of the MN Commercial. This was the short lived UP transfer. It brought cars from Raymond Ave. to South St. Paul. Alcos, GE's, it was(and still is) a railfans paradise! Enjoy the smoke!

That by far has to some of the best sounding units and smoke displays that I have ever seen its almost as if they are growling very very cool!

Great video Bob! Those three units were working to get their train moving.

Great clips of the ole Alco and GE's Bob.

Awesome footage! The lead unit and the third unit are originally from Australia, are they not?

The 71 sounds like the Caterpillar (Cummins?) powered MLW. The BN GE is a C30-7,not an U33C. The 5059 is, IIRC, ex Hammersley Iron of Austrailia.

Great video! I especially liked the part starting at 33 seconds in... That trackage is still there, albiet the gates are actually gone now, and the track hasnt seen a wheel in a decade or more. Great catch. Any idea when the MNNR last switched that spur? Now it just seems to be 3 city blocks of track rusting away, crossings asphalted over, and the industries seemed to have chosen intermodal containers as opposed to boxcars. I suppose intermodal is still rail though!
