Remarks: nion Pacific 844, the only steam locomotive in the U.S. that was never officially retired from a Class 1 railroad, departed Cheyenne, WY for Denver, CO. In the half hour before the 844 rolled out of town, two eastbound freights appear while one westbound headed out ahead of the shiny black 4-8-4 and it's 22-car train. These clips will be featured in an upcoming episode of the TV series Trackside. Go to for more information.
