Remarks: Southbound on the Pinckneyville sub, between Waltonville, IL., and Tamaroa, IL. Heading home on an empty coal train. There was an ice storm the night before, and we were the first train on this sub. After hitting two branches already, I decided to get my camera out and get a video of the next one hitting the windshield.
First off, let me change some info on the train here. I had to dig back into my timekeeping logs to double check the train info and it seems I was mistaken. The lead engine ID was the UP 6467, and the train ID was the 2CIMNA9-27.
Second, we didn't have to necessarily stop and clear the wipers off. But we eventually came to a stop at the interlocking at Tamaroa and I used the broom thats stored in the nose of the cab to sweep off some of that ice and bits of tree that started to accumulate there.
When we got in, we realized we ended up losing one of our ditch lights.

I'm kind of surprised you didn't lose a wiper as well.

I bet if we were not in a wide-cab unit we would of had a little less stress!!
