Remarks: The crowd at Horseshoe Curve on October 12th continued to grow as a loaded PP&L coal train made a careful descent, led by SD40-2s 3352 and 3349 and a trio of SD60Is - still-blue 6734 and 6731 and black 6721. SD40-2s 3343 and 3346 brought up the rear, with the 3346 flashing a bit of Conrail blue from behind the cab.
The helper pair made enough noise going away that I didn't pick up the sound of a westbound until the coal train was almost out of sight. I restarted the camera just in time to catch the helpers disappearing under the signal bridge as ES40DCs 7702 and 7581 charged upgrade with a solid autorack train.
