Nice shot! I like the low morning sun angle. When did they stop blowing for the crossings in Ashland? Its been a very long time since I was last there.

Thanks! This was my first early morning visit out there; with afternoon footage coming out my ears I wanted to try a different time of day. 14 trains in 4 hours that morning, and only once did I have to wait longer than 30 minutes for one to go by. The minutes from a town council meeting in July '05 make mention of efforts to get the zone 'reinstated' after it was lifted by Federal code that said the town would have to explicitly reapply for quiet zone status again, so that dates it roughly I guess. They'll normally blow for Ashcake Road and Vaughan Road on either end of town, but that's not to say you can't elicit a salute every now and then from the right crew...
