Remarks: For a few months during 1986, CN moved their remaining f units into the Toronto area. CN ran a steel slab train from Hamilton to Brantford daily using a ABA set of f-units. The week we were in the Hamilton area to capture these classic f's, one of them was out of service and was replaced by a GP9. This clip was taken just east of Hamilton with the A unit leading a B unit and a geep.

Awesome video Kent. The CN paint scheme looks great on the f units.

Wow! Very cool to see those F-Units in action... listen to them work! Also a cool catch with the geep! Nice video!

Very interesting indeed. The 9163 and 6622 (F7B) are in active service on the Carolina Southern. The 9158 used to be also, but has been recently torched. Thanks for sharing.

I spent a few summers at this same time photographing these units on their way to Ft. McMurray (my location Rewater, Alberta). It's nice to see someone caught them on film as the growling bark of an f unit is missed in a still photograph. Thanks for sharing and nice footage.

This is an interesting video of the 80's, my modeling era. Thanks, MD
