Remarks: NS 098 takes 10 MRS C38EMI locomotives to Penn Terminal to be shipped to Brazil. NS 9507 leads MRS C38EMI's 3956-2, 3959-7, 3963-5, 3962-7, 3965-1, 3964-3, 3960-1, 3957-1, 3958-9, and 3961-9. MRS (Malha Ferrovia da Regiao Sudeste) Logística S.A. uses a 5 foot 3 inch gauge railroad, and the trucks on the locomotives are temporary C trucks. NS 098 passes a gang installing ties, as you can see, nice horn from both crews! The MoW crews were joking around on the radio? "what does MRS stand for?" "Moron Rail Service?" "Well somebody said maybe Mexican Rail Service..."

MRS = Malha Regional Sudeste, these locomotives will run over 1.60m gauge with C+C trucks. They already are pulling big and heavy trains here in Brazil, and all C38EMI have been modified to C44EMI. Thanks for posting!

Actually MRS is simple MRS, officially there is no meaning, it is registered as MRS. Malha Regional Sudeste was the name gave to the lines prior to MRS by RFFSA (Brazil Federal Railroads) and it looks like MRS was chosen due to this. Some says that MRS is Minas, Rio and Sao Paulo (the three Brazillian states where the railroad runs), and some jokes that it is "Mesma Rede de Sempre", that means like "The Same RFFSA as Before".
