Remarks: The steam engines set a new record for the most revenue tonnage hauled by steam locomotives in the 21st Century. They started out in Iowa City slowly gaining speed. Then we move to a crossing on the outside of Iowa City where they make it up a big hill. And finally we see the engines smoke up West Liberty. The engines then will pull passenger trains in Rock Island for flood relief. P.S. The car that went under the gates in the beginning was almost stopped but then decided that he couldnt wait.

I forgot to mention that the kid that yelled "Woo-woo" was not me or any of the rail fans. It was actually a Junior High kid that was right across the tracks in the parking lot. To bad he yelled it so loud because alot of people probably got that in their video also.

The QJs show what they once did on the Jingpeng Pass.

AWESOME! So nice to see a pair of QJ's in PERFECT conditions for filming/photographing steam. Give yourself a pat on the back, Alex - a great days filming, and no mistake.

Alex - that video sends shivers down the spine. I thought the first sequence was really atmospheric with the locos slipping as they pull away, then the second sequence with the first loco slipping at full speed left me speechless. I'm just too young to remember steam in normal service here in the UK (steam ended here in 1968), but this must have been what it was really like

No fancy electronic wheelslip control here; just a plain human brain! What a video that was, bravo Alex!
