I love it! Did the camera survive all that? :)

Posted by Chuck Mitchell on October 2, 2007

Great video Chris! I love getting shots like that.

Unbelievable! That's crazy!

Uh oh... it looks like the train wasn't favoring your camera.

Posted by Eric B. on October 2, 2007

Oh wow, that was fast! I sure hope that camera survived :).

Hi guys, thanks for the nice compliments. To answer the question everyone seems to have, yes, the camera did survive. As you can see near the end of the video, the wind caught it and eventually had it pointing almost straight up, but it was sitting in the exact same place I'd left it once the train had passed!

Yeah, I noticed that the camera moved at the end and I thought maybe you were crazy enough to actually be down their with the camera and decided to change the angle! But, fantastic video. I would have passed out. PCA

Slick! Nothing like a high speed run over. I've done the same with steam, but wouldn't dream of doing what you did unless I was in the market for a new camcorder!

Awsome angle Chris. Thanks for sharing.

That is amazing! It's so violent and it's good to hear your camera made it.

Now that was a sweet video! I would have never thought to use such an angle. For as much as I love trains, here's a view I have never seen before.

Posted by Jim Thias on December 23, 2007

What, no pan in the other direction to catch the train going away??! haha Awesome, Chris.

Posted by Jay-Zee on January 13, 2008

Wow! Definitely an intense video! It screams, "Kilroy was here!"

Posted by Eric Karr on April 8, 2008

I thought the camera was going to get sucked up because near the end it was shaking up.
