Remarks: From the Asopos gorge,the line continues to climb along the sheer northeastern slopes of Mount Oiti above the plains of Lamia.The trucks roll through a series of tunnels,arched stone viaducts,and snow sheds.Built in 1905,these structures are excellent examples of early 20th-century railway engineering and together with the gorgeous landscape create one of Europe's most scenic railway routes.The route is going to be abandoned in the next few years in favour of a new alignment.
