Remarks: On a rare sunny winters day in the Netherlands, a DDM set, led by a 1700 Class locomotive, runs along the inner tracks to gain access to the 'a' end platform further along. Leiden Centraal (among others) has 'a' and 'b' end platforms, such as '9a' and '9b', with crossovers in the middle to enable independant use of each platform, effectively doubling the platform space at the station.
