Remarks: At 12:08pm on Saturday, February 14, 1998, southbound Triple Crown Roadrailer train #I63 throttles up after a very late-running Amtrak Crescent passes by and proceeds through Austell, Georgia, milepost 134.7H of NS's Atlanta North District, behind NS C39-8 #8652 and NS B23-7 #4022. Older GE's could put on an impressive show with their diesel exhaust and chug-chug sound as they accelerated.

I agree Brian, old GEs sound great and I like the "boxy" looks of a C39-8. Thanks for sharing

I wouldn't buy a C39-8 for looks, but for sound. Haven't seen a B23-7 like that in service since 2000.
