Remarks: More springtime grain from the Midwest heads to Athens, GA, where it will be taken by locals up the Gainesville Midland Sub to the numerous feed mills in Gainesville, GA. The CW40-8 leading is the "newest" power on this train, including and ex-Seaboard B36-7 and a pair of ex-C&O SD40-2.
Great video with the older power there. Just wondering, do you have a handheld scanner or one that goes in your car? I have a handheld which isn't all that great but you can hear the train really clear if it's like 3 or so miles away. Gainesville must get a ton of grain because I see grain trains all the time on the great Abbeville Sub. Check you later, Jimmie H.

Thanks for the comments! I have a RadioShack PRO-82 hand scanner which works OK, but works great when you add a Smiley antenna to it. I use one tuned to the railroad band; it increased my reception by miles. Do a web search and you should find one for around $20.
