I'm glad someone else caught this rare event outside of Florida. Really neat with the strobe lights working as well! Thanks Cary for the video.

Even though the train is in South Carolina, I think the GP40P-2 lead the train all the way to Miami, maybe because of viewing an image on railpictures.net of the train in Orlando.

Cool Video. I heard the amtrak train in Columbia comes at 4:00 and 1:00 AM. I bet you were sleepy! I have a question, do you know a good train watching spot in Columbia?

Well the Amtrak station is a good place for starters, as both the NS and CSX mainlines are right in front of you. Another good place would be around the USC Greek Village, as both lines cross at grade there. I'd also have to say that the crossing on Huger Street is another good one, as both the CSX and NS have to merge onto single track.

Thanks for sharing, Cary. I hate I missed this rare event. Nice use of the available light! To the fellow asking for good photo spots in Columbia, surf on over to Railpictures and do a search on both Columbia and Cayce, South Carolina, especially "Cayce Riverwalk."
