The running water beside the rails is beautiful, espescially entering the tunnel. It's also a known fact that maybe 5 EMD's could do the same work as the 8 GE's.

Somebody has to tell me how come they need so many locomotives at the head of the train when 300 000lbs of torque power is enough to break draw bars or knuckles... each of those locos can pull about 130 000 lbs of torque???

That's insane! 8 diesels out of Natural Tunnel. I've been there but have yet to even see a box car come out of that tunnel!

Only three of the GE's are online and the rest are in tow. Far as the 5 EMD's vs 8 GE's I highly doubt that can you say AC4400CW the next SD40-2!

I wanna go back there, I haven't seen Natural Tunnel since 1978. What a Great Video.
