Mountain steam railroading and snow-an excellent combination. Great video!

Great clips Chris. Very well done.

Great video, Chris! Isn't it amazing that if you hurry to get a good shooting location that other people will run up at the last minute into your point of view?

Great clip! I love that whistling about halfway through the video... I'll have to try that one when I do the engineer's program in May at Williams Grove, PA. And I know what it's like getting foamers in my shots... I usually get 'em back at some point (heh heh heh).

Nice shooting! I second John G's comment...Don't ya just love it when you take the time to setup the perfect shot then someone at the last second blocks it!

The last shot reminds me of an old saying, "If they call it tourist season, why can't we shoot them?" Did you politely thank them for being in the way? Otherwise, excellent work!

Posted by Steve Lerro on February 26, 2008

It would have been nice if the two people didn't run in front of your shot in the last scene.

Excellent Video. I was fortunate to ride this train in 2005 but it was July and not as scarry. Good Work.

Posted by Stanley Piper on May 27, 2008

I'll try to be nice about this but the two people who got into the shot are complete idiots! Absolutely no manners or thoughts about the person who was first to the trackside. Great video otherwise.

What about the putz standing in the guage before the other two even lumber up? He should be shot. And they wonder why railfans have a bad reputation.

Posted by Gingerbread on October 6, 2009

The "Putz" was there and set up first. Good video, Chris.

Great work, Chris. However, when I shoot trains I don't want any railfan tushies in my shot.

Darn good video and love the whistle on the engine. I noticed that both of the fellas who jumped into your shot had tele lenses. If so they could have easily walked over next to you had made nearly the same photos from that side of the road. I make it a point not to step in front of anyone's shot when I'm out taking photos.

The guy with the tripod in the middle of the tracks is a bad commercial for both professional and hobbyist photographer. That was not something you ever want to advertize to your kids about how to film trains.
