Remarks: Unlike EMD or GE, this RS18 cracks to life the moment the engineer touched the throttle. List to this unit work as they switch cars at Guelph, Ontario. This unit is now out of service because of crankshaft failure. It may be repaired if funds allow.
What beautiful Music to the Ears! You can tell the hogger likes working with those ALCo's. That reminds me of seeing the Rock Island RS-3's in commuter service in Chicago.
Jack, you've done it again. You have a way with finding excellent locomotives at some very fine locations. This video is no exception. Really great video of this little short line. The sound of the Alcos is always captivating. Well done.
Nice seeing a classic Alco in action. As the saying goes: "Alcos sound like Harley Davidson motorcycles on steroids!"

That's got to be the cleanest sounding 251-B that I've ever heard. Those Woodward "Govs" made the RS-11/RS-18 nice and punchy when it came to kicking Cars. Great Throttle Response. CP did indeed get their "Dime" out of this series.
