Remarks: North bound #115 with CP 5853-5616-5663 was bouncing and hunting the rail all the way up. Must have been a ruff ride for the crew. The CP and CN are side by side here at South Parry. mp20 on CP, and mp146 on CN. This was taken before this plant had high speed cross-overs installed as both railroads share the paralleled tracks to St. Clair The CP is used for north traffic, CN used for south traffic.

Nice video. But considering the quality of the track, it is a miracle that a derailment did not occur. I cannot believe how poor is the alignment... Yves

I think I would have the urge to run for cover if a train came toward me like that. I hope the crew had air seats.

Great video! Not only an elephant-style set of CP EMD's, but a sense of danger, too! Thanks! -Kyle

That brings back memories of watching trains on early Conrail in SW Ohio. Very sporting video indeed! Thanks for the remarkable scene.

I almost ran away from my computer:)! I always get a bit of a rush when a train is approaching me when i'm standing trackside. I love it!

Wow! I hope that the crew didn't have full stomachs! Appears that the line is overdue to be on a date with the Plasser Rail Grinder machine! Thanks for posting!

That line reminds me of the old Rock Island tracks heading west from the CRI&P yards on the south side of the Kaw River in Topeka, KS. From the yard limits to Alma, KS, Rock Island trains were limited to running at 35mph or less, due to the track conditions. thankfully the SSW bought that line and paid to have the tracks relaid, on a better conditioned roadbed.

At 00:16 in the video look closely at the rails, you can actually see dips in the heads of the rails. Cripes, no wonder that's a rough ride. CP huh? I bet they have a lot of problems with heaving track due to the winters up there, problems that don't get fixed even through the warm months.
