The newer locomotives have what could be teremd a bathroom in the nose of the unit. The older ones just had a toilet in the nose. The small room there also served as a storage space. Extra air hoses, tools, switch brooms and the like are kept there as well.I don't know of any railroads that would let non-employees ride along. Or ones that openly endorse it any way. I have given rides to people sometimes, but they have all been friends or people associated with the railroad somehow such as rail customers.
