| Remarks: On the Pittsburgh Line, the assumption that the sound of fast-approaching diesels is 'just light helpers' can often come back to bite oneself. At 1:47 PM at Cassandra on October 30th, the sound certainly belonged to light engines, but not of the SD40E variety. 45,000 horsepower's worth of SD80MACs were on the move to Cresson for servicing - 7214, 7206, 7201, 7200, 7202, 7210, 7203, 7205, and 7209. Twenty minutes later, C40-9W 9848 and GMTX SD60 9033 drifted downgrade with a mostly-baretable intermodal consist. |
