Remarks: In April 1987 as part of the Kentucky Derby Festival the Kentucky Railway Museum's L&N 152 was invited to participate. The museum then located in eastern Louisville would shuttle passengers to the river to watch the Great Steam Boat Race between the Belle of Louisville and the Delta Queen. After the passengers got off I was invited for a cab ride to Osborn Yard so they could turn the train for the ride back to the museum after the race. They didn't have to ask twice so here are the clips for my about eight mile round trip and then from a coach for the ride back to the museum.

Thanks for sharing this look back at a more reasonable, laid back time period. CSX has proven their unwillingness and inability to accommodate steam moves during the present times. Funny how it was no big deal at all back in 1987, but since then the railroad industry has become so "enlightened". Really neat scenes from around Louisville also - especially South Louisville Shops and the footage along Frankfort Avenue. Great video!

What a fantastic time capsule! To see long-gone things like the White Castle and Payette Buick still there!
