Remarks: Rostered to drive an eastbound coalie down the Blue Mountains, I commence my shift by performing the prep of my four elelctric locos, 85 class. I forget now what the coalie identity was, probably CB16 or perhaps one from Baal Bone. 33 hoppers grossing 3300 tonne. With the load for an 85/86 er being 765 tonne climbing the 1 in 42 (2.4%) grade east from Lithgow, we are over the load, but permitted as the end of the electric locomotion approaches. I carted the camcorder to shoot the loco prep including a glimpse inside the high tension room. Sadly today elelctric locos do not do battle here in NSW.
