Remarks: Cab ride up the east side of La Veta Pass on the SLRG #18 on its round trip from Alamosa to La Veta and return. Engineer Earl Knoob at the throttle with fireman Kevin Bush on the left side of the cab. The first clip is the 30mph start out of the town of La Veta while the second and third clips show climbing the pass at about 13 mph. This Friday, Saturday and Sunday trip is certainly worth a visit if you are in the area.
