Remarks: Beyond the electrified Brisbane system during the early 1990s, a loco hauled train comprising wooden side loading carriages (Evans cars) still operated. The Gatton Pas. Here we see this train, evoking three decades earlier when I was a child, running west from Ipswich through Walloon carting the arvo workers home. 46 units of the QR 1620 class were built from 1967. 862 hp 62 tons. Six units are preserved, sadly not 1652.
