Remarks: All of these clips would have been longer but for flaws incurred either during shooting or years later in the digitalization process, yet there remains an inherent attraction, that is after some judicious editing. Scene one opens with an E/B SP passing helper power in the pocket at Loma Linda. Scene two records the passage of a W/B Santa Fe TOFC behind an SD45–2/GP39–2 at Ludlow. Scene three shows Amtrak #4 entering the western outskirts of Gallup, New Mexico. Scene four finds a W/B Santa Fe at Daggett. Scene five features a very fast UP W/B at Lynndel, Utah. Scene six shows a silver and red A-B-B GP60 trio E/B on the Arizona Divide near Eagle Nest. Scene seven features an E/B light power move at Porter, Indiana. A W/B UP at Clear Lake, Utah is subject of scene eight while a fast moving W/B METRA at La Grange, Illinois is the focus of scene nine. Scene ten catches a W/B CNW at Woodbine, Iowa and scene eleven finishes with a W/B METRA at Franklin Park, Illinois.
This is a nicely paced montage. It's always great to see some older power when they were new and cutting edge. The Dash-8 40-B's with the spartan cab in UP paint. Nice material and, most enjoyable. Very well done !
