There appears to be an exhaust trail above the last car. A dome. Could this be to run an air conditioner? Thought I could hear an engine running when it passed by.

The car is an RDC but currently does not power any trains and is just used as a passenger car. I am not aware of the workings of it but I can only assume that the exhaust trail is either from air conditioning or a heater.
